AN INTIMATE ELOPEMENT AT SAN GALGANO ABBEY

For anyone wishing to elope in Italy and in particular to elope in Tuscany, San Galgano Abbey is probably one of the most suggestive venues you can choose. Weddings at San Galgano Abbey are already so special, but elopements at San Galgano have something even more unique, almost mystical. Exchanging your vows, just the two of you, in the ethereal setting of a roofless abbey will definitely add on to anyone looking to elope in the most intimate atmosphere.
Rachel and Chris planned their elopement in just a couple of months. After Covid hit, they wanted to wait and be hundred percent sure their plans were not going to be postponed (again). They originally planned a bigger wedding back in Australia, their home country, but decided to elope instead when travelling got tricky. The one thing they could not compromise on, was the date as it meant something extremely special to them. The masterly coordination between all the different vendors involved made the day possible.
GETTING READY PICTURES AT AGRITURISMO SAN GALGANO
Rachel and Chris’ elopement at San Galgano started at Agriturismo di San Galgano, Terre di San Galgano. Agriturismo di San Galgano is the most convenient place to stay over if you wish to get married at San Galgano or if you wish to elope there: with only a couple of minutes walk, you can reach the roofless abbey. The beautiful walk nestled between the typical Tuscan cypresses was also the perfect setting for Rachel and Chris’ first look.

After their first look, they walked together to the abbey where they had a most touching ceremony at San Galgano Abbey with Rachel’s parents as only companion.

The day continued through the streets of Siena, personally one of our favourite cities in Tuscany: with its unique colours and hidden corners, Siena is just a joy to shoot at. We indeed love taking our couples here and show them around such a beautiful city.
GOLDEN HOUR PICTURES AT VILLA AGAPE, FLORENCE
After a lovely lunch in a typical Italian trattoria (La Vecchia Taverna), we hit the road again only to end the day in the best way possible. Rachel and Chris got blessed with one of the most beautiful Tuscan sunsets and the location chosen for their golden light pictures was Villa Agape in Florence. Its Giardini all’Italiana were simply the icing on the cake: olive groves, endless hills and cypresses lanes were the perfect final touches of this stunning elopement in Tuscany.
