We still cannot believe that we are writing this post! We have been thinking about this project for so long, but never really found the time to work on it, we were always too busy photographing weddings, or learning how to run a family while also running a business or even too busy moving, yet again!

Over the years, we have learnt to see the fuller half of the glass always, even in (very) challenging situations. Frankly, running a wedding photography business during a pandemic has not been easy at all. It is true though, that thanks to this slower pace, we finally managed to get that extra time that we have always needed in order to stop and think about where we were going with Benni Carol Photography.

We were (and still are) very happy with what we have achieved so far with our business. If we think back to where we started when we were both still in London, we have evolved and grown so much. Trial and error has been a good component of our whole journey, together with soul searching. And funny enough, it is during one of the toughest periods we’ve ever faced – in fact the toughest one – that we finally feel like we have found our true path.

It is no secret that we have always been huge outdoor lovers and at the very beginning we wanted to communicate this love of ours through our work. We started to specialise in outdoor weddings, working with those couples who wanted to celebrate their union while also celebrating nature and its beauty. This passion of ours has evolved through the years along with our work and it’s been taking more and more of a shape especially after the births of our kids. That is when we started to question ourselves about the legacy we wanted to leave to them. We have always been very sensitive towards the environment and climate issues and it came only natural to make our business evolve in a way in which the important aspect of living a more sustainable life could become its main focus.

There is nothing that makes us more happy and proud of what we have created than seeing that it can serve a higher purpose, one of the highest in fact. Promoting sustainability through our photography is finally filling our business of that very important purpose that we have been sensing for so long but never really managed to grasp.

And it is with this in mind, that we are proudly launching today our brand new project! We have created a network of wonderful sustainable wedding businesses who will be sharing their expert knowledge with us so that we can support every couple wishing to start their wedding journey with a green foot!

In a world where one of the scarcest resources is time, we want to save everyone a bit of time by putting as many green wedding planning resources together as possible.

Finding the sustainable green alternative or solution is not easy. It is not easy to navigate through the world of ZeroWaste (we are still navigating through it ourselves), there are so many options out there that even choosing one is not straightforward at all. Plus, it’s time consuming and it’s this aspect that often puts people off, taking them away from more sustainable roads.

We are glad to see that many different businesses have decided to join forces together and become a big family, with the hope to help, inspire and guide as many people as possible through the wonderful journey of green, eco-friendly and sustainable weddings.
