Cella Grande Wedding on Lake Viverone

We are excited to share the images of Emma & Erik’s wedding at Cella Grande. Cella Grande is a wonderful Italian Villa by Lake Viverone. It has gorgeous surroundings, with a breathtaking view on the lake. This makes it the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding in an Italian Villa.

Emma and Erik chose a bohemian decor for their day, which was all set outdoors. Federica at Il Mio Mondo Fiorito really nailed the bohemian concept. For their outdoor symbolic ceremony, they had a boho arch, with gorgeous pampas and wild flowers.

Despite the very challenging circumstances (Covid, right?!), Emma & Erik managed to pull the day off!

They live in Sweden, so they were looking to plan a destination wedding in Italy. They wanted to get married in Piedmont, the Italian region famous for its outstanding wine. They also knew that they wanted to have a symbolic ceremony, held outdoors. Cella Grande was the best Italian wedding venue that ticked all the boxes.

They had the most touching symbolic ceremony. Emma & Erik opted for a handfasting and tying the knot ceremony, such an emotional service. It was officiated by their closest friends, as for most symbolic ceremonies.

Symbolic ceremonies are by far the best formula if you have a destination wedding in Italy. Our personal advice to anyone getting married abroad (in this case in Italy), would be:

– Sign all your legal paperwork in your home country

– Have an outdoor symbolic ceremony conducted by your friends and family

This is the best way to have the most personal day: you will be free by all the stress of working out foreign paperwork. You will also be able to add all the personal touches you wish to and you will be able to get married pretty much everywhere outdoors.

The backdrop for the couple pictures was Lake Viverone. It is not as famous as its well known siblings in the Italian Lake District (Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, Lake Garda). Still, it has lots of charm and character. We would surely recommend it for anyone wanting to get married on a lake in Italy.

Emma and Erik had an intimate wedding. All their closest friends and family were there and they could not have had a happier day. You do not need to have a massive reception with hundreds of guests to have the day of your life. Intimate weddings create a very meaningful and profound atmosphere.
