As the elopement planner and photographer for Amanda and Dough’s intimate elopement in Capri, we had the honour of witnessing and capturing every exquisite moment of their special day. Their elopement began at the elegant Jumeirah Capri Palace, where the couple shared a moving first look on the hotel’s picturesque grounds. Witnessing Dough getting so emotional while turning to see Amanda in her stunning wedding attire for the first time, set a beautiful tone for the day.

From there, we journeyed to Seggiovia Monte Solaro, where the couple was the first to board the chairlift in the early morning light. This timing afforded us the chance to take some incredible photos of Amanda and Dough suspended above the serene landscape, the anticipation of their vows palpable.

The symbolic ceremony took place in an intimate, secluded spot with breathtaking views of the iconic Faraglioni rocks. As a violinist played classical music, the peaceful setting was perfect for their heartfelt vows. The ceremony was incredibly moving, culminating in a unity candle ritual that symbolised their new life together. Their first kiss as a married couple, against the backdrop of the Faraglioni and the tranquil morning sea, was a moment of sheer magic.

Following the ceremony, Amanda and Dough enjoyed a light lunch on Monte Solaro, basking in the beauty of the moment. We then strolled through the charming streets of Capri, capturing the essence of the island’s vibrant culture and stunning scenery. Our walk led us to Augusto Gardens, where the lush gardens and panoramic views provided a perfect setting for more photos. Among the most striking images were those taken on via Krupp, where the winding roads, steep cliffs, and azure sea created a dramatic and unforgettable backdrop.

Amanda & Dough’s elopement in Capri concluded with a magical boat ride around the island. This tranquil voyage was a beautiful and relaxing way to reflect on the day’s events. As a final gift, while Amanda and Dough enjoyed their time on the boat, we climbed up to the Grotta Bianca. From this vantage point, we captured some truly priceless shots of the couple from above, the boat gracefully gliding through the water below.

There are several ferry services from the main town and cities like Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano. In case of bad weather the most reliable ferries are the ones leaving from Sorrento since it is the closest town to the island of Capri.

Cars are not allowed in Capri, so you need to rely on public transportation or your own feet. There is a Funicolare that connects Marina Grande and the touristic port, where all the ferries docks, to Capri Town and a circular bus service that connects Marina Grande to Capri and Anacapri.

Unfortunately quite often there is a long queue for both busses and funicolare, so you will most likely end up using a taxi at least once in your trip. Taxis run 24/7 and you can catch one in the main squares of the various places. The taxis in Capri are very unique Fiat models, all covetable, and each one of them coloured in a different ways (some of them look like Barbie cars!).

If you fancy a challenging walk (possibly not at mid day like Benni did!) There is a stair path that takes you from Marina Grande to Capri main square, the Clock Town square.

You will be rewarded by a stunning view all the way up and once you reach the square.

Even more challenging, but also more spectacular, is the Scala Fenicia, (the phoenician steps) an ancient stair path that connects Marina Grande to Anacapri all the way to Monte Solaro.

Another amazing walking route that is worth doing just for the view is Via Krupp, that connects the Augusto Gardens in Capri Town to Marina Piccola.

Surely because of its outstanding beauty, Capri is one of the most visited destinations in Italy. Also, Being a small island, it is perfect for a day trip, so thousands of tourists get to Capri in the morning and leave in the evening everyday.

With limited space, the island gets incredibly crowded and the services overloaded. If you visit from May to September prepare to queue for everything and walk among an incredible crowd.

If you want to elope to Capri we would highly recommend the low season. October is our favourite month for eloping in the Amalfi coast, November, March and April will also allow you to enjoy this beautiful corner of Italy with not such big crowds.
