We still remember when we first got contacted by Tracey & Peter. They didn’t really have a solid plan, all they knew for sure was that they wanted to elope in Italy, however, they didn’t have the faintest clue where to or how to. As with all of our couples, we booked them in straight away for a first chat over a video call, where we could better understand the vision they had for their day: they wanted a relaxing day, with typical Italian views, cobblestone villages, wheat fields, rolling hills, cypresses, good wine, good food.. And the region that popped into our minds straight away was Val d’Orcia, one of our favourite areas in Tuscany.

We recently wrote a little guide for anyone wanting to explore this little jewel, please help yourselves with it:

Tracey and Peter’s day started in a stunning venue in the countryside, where they also had their symbolic ceremony.

Their celebrant was one of Tracey’s best friends, which made everything even more personal and emotional. After exchanging their vows in a secluded little corner, Tracey and Peter popped a bottle of wine produced in the vineyards of the venue and after a toast, a little chat and a lot of giggles, we set off to discover the beauties of the surroundings.

Val d’Orcia didn’t leave them unimpressed, in fact quite the opposite!

They eloped at the beginning of June, just before most of the fields get harvested. Our first stop was Cipressi di San Quirico d’Orcia, where we had the loveliest stroll and where Tracey & Peter danced it away with the most photogenic breeze!

We then headed to one of the most unique villages of the whole Val d’Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, an ancient Etruscan and Roman village. Still preserving its original look, you can enjoy in its very heart the so-called “Piazza delle Sorgenti”, the “Square of sources“: a rectangular tank, which contains the original source of hot spring water.

We couldn’t of course miss the UNESCO heritage site of Pienza, where we had a lovely gelato stop, only to head back at sunset for a few last golden hour pictures, before Tracey & Peter would enjoy an intimate dinner, with a wine tasting menu in the cellar of their exquisite venue.

They loved every second of their day, and so did we.

Elopement dress perfection.

It is absolutely worth mentioning tha Tracey’s dress was one of our favourite elopement dresses of our busy 2022 season. Simple yet so sophisticated, Tracey’s dress could not have been a better pick!
