SMALL WEDDINGS IN ITALY
Everything you need to know if you’re planning an intimate wedding in Italy
Italy has long been a dream destination for couples seeking timeless beauty and romance — but in recent years, small weddings have redefined what it means to celebrate here. If the idea of a big wedding feels overwhelming, you’re not alone. More and more couples are choosing to keep things intimate and personal — and honestly, there’s no better place for that than Italy.
With fewer guests and more intention, small weddings in Italy allow you to focus on what truly matters: the two of you, the connection you share, and the experience you want to live. Whether it’s an intimate dinner under Tuscan olive trees or a sunset ceremony on the Amalfi Coast, a small Italian wedding brings together authenticity, atmosphere, and emotion. Every intimate wedding in Italy becomes not just an event, but a story full of beauty and meaning.

WHAT IS A SMALL WEDDING
What is considered a small wedding in Italy?
A small wedding in Italy typically includes anywhere between 2 and 50 guests. At Benni Carol Photography, our Italy wedding packages are designed for up to 20 people — keeping the focus on intimacy, connection, and a relaxed experience.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen more and more couples eloping to Italy — but often with a twist. Many want to elope in Italy while still having their closest family and friends by their side. If that sounds like you, we completely understand. As elopement planners and photographers in Italy, this is exactly the kind of celebration we love to create.
Our small Italy wedding packages are perfect for couples who want to combine the adventurous spirit of an elopement with the warmth of a traditional wedding. You can still explore breathtaking locations, share personal vows, and create meaningful memories — only this time, with the people who mean the most to you
SMALL WEDDINGS IN ITALY COST
How much does it cost to plan a micro wedding in Italy?
If you’re trying to understand the cost of a small wedding in Italy, there are several factors to consider when setting your budget. We’ve already broken down the cost of a wedding in Italy here and the cost of an elopement in Italy here. Generally, the same rules apply to micro weddings in Italy, but with smaller guest numbers, your overall costs will naturally be lower.
That said, every celebration is unique. When budgeting for your intimate Italian wedding, these are the main factors that will impact your total cost:
- The Italian region you choose
- The venue you choose
- The type of providers you work with
- The extra experiences you include
On average, a small wedding in Italy costs around €25,000, though this can vary widely depending on your location and preferences.
Our Italy micro wedding packages blend the flexibility of elopement planning with the structure of a traditional celebration — giving you the best of both worlds. Below, you’ll find five real examples of intimate weddings in Italy we’ve planned this year, to help you get a realistic sense of what to expect when budgeting for your day.

“Thank you for the most unforgettable day!
Benni went out of her way to make sure we had a day catered exactly to what we wanted. We opted for an intimate ceremony with the opportunity to explore Ravello, Amalfi and a boat tour while our guests relaxed.
Benni put us in touch with all of the vendors for the day and made sure everything ran seamlessly.
Benni was so friendly and took all the time in the world to make sure Sholto (who had ruptured his Achilles tendon 11 weeks prior) would be able to walk around.
We wish we could go back and do it all again.”

“Hi Benni and Carol! Roger and I just looked at the pictures together, and they are better than we could have imagined! We especially love the ones we took after the wedding in the community gardens (the lighting is stunning!) and we love the way you captured everyone’s emotions throughout the day. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful duo to plan and capture our special day. Thank you so much for your kindness and patience throughout the whole process and thank you for giving us such a special gift. I probably won’t get any work done today because I’ll just be looking at these amazing pictures all day! We can’t wait to share them with our friends and family! Thank you so much again. We are so happy with how everything turned out!”
